The Pappy Van Winkle Family Reserve cigars are a collaboration between Drew Estate and Pappy & Company. These are hand-made long-filler premium cigars produced in small, limited batches at Drew Estate’s factory in Estelí, Nicaragua. What makes them special: the “Barrel Fermented” process. Tobacco leaves — including Kentucky tobacco — are packed into small bundles and placed in oak barrels under pressure; water may be added, and the bundles are worked multiple times over 12–18 months. After fermentation, the tobacco is used to assemble the cigars. These cigars are medium-to-full bodied, with flavorful notes of coffee, cedar, charred wood/smoke, sometimes hints of vanilla, oak, spice, and smoky-sweet undertones.
