Macanudo, one of the world's most famous cigar brands, is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. In honor of the milestone, General Cigar has launched Macanudo Inspirado Red, a cigar that is full-bodied with a Nicaraguan-forward blend. Far from the mild-bodied Macanudo Cafe that the name "Macanudo" is associated with, Inspirado Red is closer in spirit to Macanudo Inspirado Orange-a more powerful Macanudo released to the U.S. market in 2016 and positioned as a medium-to full-bodied cigar.
Inspirado Red is made with an Ecuadoran Habano ligero cover leaf and blended with a variety of aged filler tobaccos. The cigar contains Nicaraguan leaf from the island of Ometepe that's been aged twelve years, 10-year-old Honduran leaf from the Jamastran valley and Nicaraguan leaf from Esteli that?s been aged five years. The tobaccos are held by a Nicaraguan binder from Jalapa.
